Ancillary Flexible Pricing

The new ancillary flexible pricing is designed to give the user greater control over their inventory and the price of that inventory in different scenarios. Previously, ancillary pricing had two levels of configuration, the first level was on the ancillary item definition and the second was on the allocation itself. This item replaces the previous multi layer pricing with a unified pricing configuration located on the ancillary item definition. The user now has the ability to modify ancillary pricing by fare class, pricing channel, and the definitions selected type (Flight, Airport, or City Pair) as well as defining applicable date ranges for these prices.

Pricing Channels

At this time we only have one pricing channel available in our system (DCS). We are planning to add more in the future.

    • On Sale From/To: Time period when the price is applicable.
    • Pricing:
      • Original: The price in the base currency which was entered for the Default record (from Step 1). This field is read-only, displayed for informational purposes.
      • Default: The new price in the base currency, when this screen is first launched, this field will be prefilled with the same value as the Original field, users can change it if needed.
      • Currency conversion: The price in the Default field will be automatically converted to other currencies using the exchange rates configured in the system when you save the record. To overwrite the value for a specific currency, select the checkbox for that currency to enable the text field and enter the new value.
    • Filter Setup:
      • Applicable Fare Class: Select a fare class that the new price will be applicable to or leave blank to select all fare classes.
      • Applicable City Pair (Flight, Airport): Select a city pair (flight, airport) that the new price will be applicable to or leave blank to select all city pairs (flights, airports).
      • Pricing Channel: Currently, the only option available is ALL.
  • Click Save.

Pricing Logic

If there are more than one applicable price for an ancillary item, the lowest price will be used. If no applicable price is found then the system will use the default price.
