How to Add an existing bag to a flight
Sometimes baggage is improperly added to a flight and one of the legs is missed. This causes the passenger's baggage to show up on the check in screen as more than what it looks like is on the baggage screen. To rectify this, we can simply add the baggage to the leg to which it has not yet been added.
Step-by-step guide
From the check in screen, go to the passenger's reservation by double clicking on the reservation number, next to their name. Once the passenger's reservation is open, look on the Res Audit Screen to get the "Baggage Numbers" of the bags in question.
Once you have the bag numbers, close the passenger's reservation and open the "Baggage" screen for the passenger. Check to see which baggage number appears. You will not need to do anything further with the correctly appearing baggage number.
- Navigate to Operations → Find Baggage.
Enter in the missing bag's bag number and click Search. Once you do, all of the legs that this bag is on will appear. As you can see in our example, the bag is missing off the first leg. From here we can add the bag to this leg. Click the "Add Routing" button, as highlighted below. - Enter in the leg details in the screen that comes up. Once you have entered them, click OK.
- Once the information screen disappears, you will see that the previously missing leg, has now been added to the bag.
- Navigate back to the check in screen and open the "Baggage" screen. You will see that both bags now appear.
