Citrix not launching

There are a number of situations which can cause issues with launching the Amelia application once logged into Citrix. See below for the Troubleshooting steps for each type of situation.

Troubleshooting step 1.

If you sign into your browser page at https://portal.intelisys.ca (old citrix portal was https://ameliaportal.intelisys.ca) and click on the ameliaRES icon but nothing happens and no error occurs, and you do have the Citrix Receiver installed, you may need to add a file association to tell your browser how to launch the .ica file. Follow the below steps to associate .ica files with the correct Citrix application:

  1. Click on your Start menu, type in Control Panel and open that up. Click on 'Default Programs'.

  2. Then, click on 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program'.

  3. Scroll down until you see .ica, it needs to be set like the below. If it is not, click on 'Change program' in the top right corner.

  4. Click on 'More apps'.
  5. Scroll down and click on 'Look for another app on this PC' to open an explorer window.
  6. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\ICA Client\ and click on wfcrun32.exe, then click 'Open'.
  7. You should now be able to launch ameliaRES from your browser.

Troubleshooting step 2.

If applications are still not launching you can try resetting the receiver.

Down by your clock area, find the Citrix icon and right click on it and select Advanced Preferences

Click on Reset Receiver and follow the prompts.

Try launching applications again.

Troubleshooting step 3.

If you receive an error indicating an issue with a Citrix virtual driver with the following error

First, log out of Citrix and close your browser.

Next, Uninstall your current Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace by going into your Control Panel on your PC and click on either Programs and Features or Uninstall a program. You may need your local IT Support assistance if your PC permissions do not allow you to uninstall and install programs on the PC (administrator permissions).

Once you see the list of programs, you should be able to find your current Citrix Receiver/Workspace, and right click it and choose uninstall.

Once uninstalled, perform a search on the internet for Citrix Workspace for Windows and once you find the download for Citrix Receiver/Workspace, download and install it.

Now, start again by trying to log into the Citrix portal and launching Amelia again.
