PDM Messages

PDM Messages are one of many types of GDS messages. This article will teach you what the purpose of a PDM message is and how to Manually process a PDM message from the GDS Message Interface.

What are PDM Messages?

PDM stands for "Possible Duplicate Message". These PDM messages are utilized by an agency when they are unsure if their messages have been processed or not. More often than not, we will get PDM messages when we allow the GDS Messaging queue to sit too long without processing the messages.

Reasons why we would get a PDM message

  • Because the agent did not get a response to their initial message
  • because the GDS that the message came from experienced an outage or processing issues
