ameliaCARGO November 2017 Release Notes

ameliaCARGO Release Notes - November 2017

CARGO Next Generation:

The ameliaCARGO system has been rebuilt in a new programming language. That is the main change is in this release.

URL change

For this release, the main URL for the Operations user interface has changed. This currently ends in 'login.aspx', while the new URL ends with 'login' (ie. no '.aspx' extension).

If you are using the Public website for your customers, we cannot redirect from the previous URL to the new one. The URL for the Public website has NOT changed with this release.

NOTE: Please ensure that users are informed of the change in URL, so they may update their bookmarks.

This rebuild/rewrite provides a faster, more responsive user experience with improved error handling and user guidance. It also enables ameliaCARGO to be operated on any device, at any screen size. Resolution and layout will be automatically adjusted to match the device's screen size.

The first phase (included in this release) is the System Administration screens, with the exception of Manage Menu, and Manage Flight Schedule. During the coming months, individual screens will be updated (without a new release).

Other Changes:

1 - Public View Credit

The view of a customer's credit in the Public system now refreshes each time the customer views it.

2 - Search Rates and Search Rates with Flights

PrePaid and Collect options have been added to Search for Rates and Search Rates with Flights so that users can search for prepaid or collect-only rates.

3 - Reservation Report

'From Airport' and 'To Airport' have been added to the search options to enable users to filter by route.

4 - Manage Flight Schedules and Manage Other Airlines Schedule

We have corrected a misspelling of 'Thursday' in Manage Flight Schedules.

5 - Create and Amend Export Consignment

Validation of the Remarks and Special Remarks field size has been updated to allow longer text in these fields.

6 - Amend Mail

We have corrected a bug that caused a failure when amending mail shipments.

7 - Amend Consignment Charges screen

A bug in the Amend Consignment Charges screen that forced a shipper account number if the user changed the consignment to a Non-Revenue Consignment has been fixed.

8 - ULDs at Airport

The ULDs at Airport screen has been updated to increase paging options, which is useful when there are many (hundreds of) ULDs available.

9 - Create Transhipments

Total fields have been updated to not populate with commas, as this caused an error message about invalid characters.

10 - Reservations Queue

The Reservations Queue has been updated to allow searching by flight date only, with or without a flight number.

11 - New Report - Amended Consignments Report

This new report lists all waybills that have been amended during the selected date range.

12 - New Process - Place shipment on Hold

A new process has been added to place a waybill on hold, and prevent it from being allocated to a flight. On the same screen, the user may also release the shipment from hold.

13 - Bug in Shipper Account picklist

A bug that caused the customer account number to appear as a date has been resolved.

14 - Bug in Remarks

A bug that caused duplicate remarks has been fixed, and the timestamp for Remarks has been corrected.

15 - Added Passenger and Baggage Weights to Flight Configurations

The Pre Allocation screen has been updated to provide more information on weight available on flights. The new display includes:

  • Maximum Priority Weight allowed
  • Maximum General Weight allowed
  • Passenger Weight
  • Baggage Weight
  • Priority Cargo already loaded
  • General Cargo already loaded
  • Total Loaded - this Airport
  • Total Available - this Airport

16 - Public System - Print Labels

The Public system has been updated to allow customers to print cargo labels for their cargo at any time.

17 - Public System - PO Number

Public waybill creation has been updated to allow customers to enter a PO Number for waybills they create.

18 - New Report - Cargo Rates in System

The new Cargo Rates in System report is designed to provide the user with a list or data extract of the existing cargo rates in the system.

The format of this report is identical to the Bulk Rates Upload format, and therefore can be used to easily check existing rates, and make any changes (if necessary). If the report contains too much data to display on screen, the data will be made available in a CSV file on the Manage Data Download screen.

19 - New Report - Rates Update Log

The Rates Update Log is designed to provide two reports:

Manual Rates Updates - The system reports all manual updates, as well as who made them, and when.

Auto Update Errors - The system reports any rates updates that failed in the automatic update or delete by file processes.

Users should check the report - if any errors are found, the data should be corrected in the next Rates Update file.

20 - Menu Users Report

A new screen and report have been added, which list all the users in the system and the menu options to which they have access.

21 - Customers in System Report

A new screen and report have been added to list all the customers in the system.

22 - Customer Credit Status Report

A new screen and report have been added to list all customers' current credit.

23 - GSA Functionality

The GSA functionality has been enhanced. It now allows users to create GSA Users, whom can give access to two new screens - Manage Agents, and Manage Rates. It is NOT recommended to grant GSA Users access to any other screens at this time, as they could potentially view other customers' data.

Manage Agents

This new screen allows GSA customers to create their customers and grant them access to these customers' public website, where they can log on and create their own waybills. Those waybills will be marked as being created by a GSA customer, which allows reporting on GSA-generated sales. All waybills created this way will be under the GSA credit account, and ameliaCARGO will invoice the GSA based on the invoice charges defined in Manage Rates.

Manage Rates

Manage Rates is the current Manage screen, but its search and Manage features have been updated to allow GSA Users to create/amend/view their own private Display and Invoice rates. These Display rates will appear on waybills create by GSA Agents, and their Invoice rates will be used by ameliaCARGO to generate an invoice to the GSA. These rates cannot be viewed by other GSA Users, and can only be used by the Agents created by the GSA User (on the Manage Agents screen).

24 - Wholesale Flights

A Wholesale / Charter Accounting configuration screen has been added. This new screen and process calculate invoices based on non-waybill calculations, such as total weight shipped during a month, or total number of charter flights. The charges can be scaled depending on weight ranges achieved during the accounting period. It should be noted the invoicing mechanism or calculations do not change or affect the charges shown on waybills, which are still charged to customers in the usual way (based on waybill charges).

25 - New Email Screen and Button

A new Send Email process has been added for Waybill and Manifest information. A Send Email button has been added at the end of the waybill creation process (on Public and Operations systems), which accesses the new Send Email screen.

When Send Emai is selected from the Public system, an email is sent to the shipper and consignee if their email addresses are on the waybill record, with full waybill information (including waybill charges).

When Send Emai is selected from the Operations system, it will take the user to the Send Email screen. If a waybill number is entered here, an email with full waybill information (including waybill charges) is sent to the shipper and consignee if their email addresses are on the waybill record.

If a flight number and date are entered, the system will send details of all waybills on the flight from the user's airport to each customer, advising the shipper that the consignment has departed the origin airport. If the flight is going to a waybill final destination, it will also send an email to the consignee to advise of the flight's arrival time.

Users can also add a personalized introduction message to these emails.
