Inventory Setup Screen

The Inventory Setup screen allows you to configure the fare hierarchy (Class of Service, Booking Codes, Fare Classes) for your airline. Access it from the menu (Utilities -> Inventory Setup).

Classes of Service

The Class of Service (COS) is at the top of the fare hierarchy. Booking Codes and Fare Classes are descended from a Class of Service.

Add a Class of Service

To add a Class of Service, click in the Class of Service area and click the Add button on the Inventory Setup screen. The Class of Service screen is displayed, where you can enter the COS Code and Description. Click the Save button to complete the operation.

1407274020_MB__note.pngNOTE: Class of Service is sorted alphabetically - when booking By Fare, the COS assigned the lowest alphabetical code will be selected by default. (ex: If Economy = E and Business = Y, then Economy (E) will be the default COS).

Booking Codes

Booking Codes are children of a Class of Service, and parents to Fare Classes. Seats are allocated at the Booking Code level, with its child Fare Classes all drawing from the same inventory.

Adding Booking Codes

To add a Booking Code, click in the Booking Code area and click the Add button on the Inventory Setup screen. The Booking Code screen is displayed, where you can enter the required details. Click the Save button to complete the operation.

Most of the rules are enforced at the Fare Class level, and not at the Booking Code level. The values set up for a Booking Code are used as a template (default values) for its child Fare Classes, which can be amended for each individual Fare Class as needed. The values in the Nesting section (Booking Code Rank, in particular) are important to set up allocation nesting.
