ECATS Compliance

This page details how information must be entered into ameliaRES to avoid ECATS submission errors.

Airport Codes

ECATS uses the IATA airport code when one available.  When a location does not have an IATA code, Transport Canada creates a mock code.

For a list of currently supported airport codes, see ECATS_Airports(20181210).xlsx.  If a required airport code does not exist, you must contact ECATS via the general inbox at ecats@tc.gc.ca.

ECATS supported airport codes are set in the Airport Code field of Utilities>CORE Items>Airports:

NOTE: If you have to change any airport codes, please contact your Account Executive for assistance.

Aircraft Models

Aircraft models must have a valid IATA aircraft type designator. This can be set in the Identifier field in Utilities>CORE Items>Aircraft Fleet.

To support more configuration options, we only send the first three characters of the Identifier. That means an Identifier such as "733A" will be valid as we will send "733".

Aircraft Information

Aircraft must have a valid tail number in the format C-ABCD. Aircraft must have accurate operational weights (0 is not a valid).

The following values are set by individual tail in Utilities>CORE Items>Aircraft Fleet:

  1. Tail Identifier
  2. Zero Fuel Weight
  3. Max Takeoff Weight

Flight Information

Each flight must have an accurate fuel weight.  This is set by loading the flight in Operations>Check In then launching either Load Summary or Print Manifest.  The Fuel Weight is set in the popup shown:

Flight times set in Operations>Flight Management>Flight Watch must be accurate and adhere to the following rules:

  • time between departure and arrival cannot exceed 24 hours GMT
  • time between legs cannot exceed 12 hours GMT
  • departure time must be greater than the arrival time of the previous leg
