How to enable Waitlisting

You need to request with your Account Executive to have waitlisting enabled in your training and production environments. Once we set it up in the back end and advise you it is enabled, you can complete the setup by following the steps below to allow waitlisting on your flights.


Inventory Setup 

 

  1.   Navigate to the Inventory Set up page in amelia App by going Utilities > Inventory Setup seen here:



  2.  Verify the Fare Class allows Waitlisting by highlighting Fare Class and clicking edit from the screen above.
    NOTE - only Fare Classes associated to a Booking Code with a nest ranking of 1 will enable the "Allow Waitlists" flag setting



  3.  Exit this screen by pressing Cancel.  
  4.  If you have a Fare Class that allows Waitlisting ensure you verify which companies belong to that Fare Class or you won't be able to see the Waitlisting option on the web site. Highlight the Fare Class on the Inventory Setup Screen and click Company to get a list of companies included in the Fare Class.  You must select one of the listed companies when making a booking on the web.  

Seat Allocations

  1.  Waitlisting on the Web only applies to flights that are sold out (Fare Class Level), in order to see sold out flights navigate to Operations -> Seat Allocations.
  2.  Look up a specific flight, in this case we are looking at flight 545 with Northsands by Selecting flight 545 in the Route field and clicking Lookup on the Seat Allocation Screen.



  3.   Ensure you highlight the date on the left of the flight you want to check. 
     


  4.  Verify that there are no seats available on the flight(fare class level).     



  5.  Ensure that the Fare Class that allows waitlist is an option for this flight.  In this example it was SH seen below. 
     

Verifying on the Web

  1.  Search for the flight that you verified was sold out, in this case is was flight 547 and see the results on the travel options page.



  2. Click the link seen above that says "Request Waitlist Seat" and see the option to choose your seat on that flight, observe the seats available is 0.

 

Verifying in the amelia RES desktop application

  1. Login to the amelia RES desktop application.
  2. Ensure the flight you want to book has booking codes that allow waitlisting.
    1.   Navigate to the Inventory Set up page in amelia App by going Utilities > Inventory Setup seen here:



    2.  Verify the Fare Class allows Waitlisting by highlighting Fare Class, from the flight you wish to book, and clicking edit from the screen above.



    3.  Exit this screen by pressing Cancel.  
  3. Click Operations> Reservations, To open the Reservation Selector screen.
     
     
  4. Click the By Schedule button. The Create a Reservation form will appear. 

  5. Enter in the 1- Date, 2- From and 3- To, according to the flight you want to book.
  6. Click 7- By Schedule. This will load the Flight Availability form. 

  7. Select the flight you wish to book and click the 4- Waitlist button at the bottom. 

  8. The Fare Class selection form now loads, Choose a fare from the bottom grid. 

  9. Click S- Select. 

  10. Click B- Book. 

  11. This will load the Passenger List information, here you enter the passenger info or search for existing passenger. Once done, click the C -Close button.
     
  12. A Waitlist reservation has now been created.
    1. You will notice the Segments will be colored green to indicate it is a waitlist flight.
