Packaged Ancillary Items

You can package flight and airport items so they are attached to a specific fare.

Setting up Packaged Items

Once logged into the ameliaRES application, follow these steps to set up your packaged items:

  1. Click Utilities -> Ancillary Items -> Ancillary Items Categories.
                   
  2. Click on Add - the information fields will appear. 
     
  3. Fill in the Name, Description, and set the Multiple Flag and the Unavailable Minutes Prior to ETD.
    1. The Multiple Flag determines if there is more than one of these items allowed on the reservation.
    2. The Unavailable ___ Minutes Prior to ETD is the amount of minutes this item will be available prior to the estimated time of departure.

      Ex: 

      Ensure the Active check box is checked.

  4. Once you are done, click Save.
    1. You should see the item category you added in the list now.
            
    2. Click the X to close the Ancillary Items Categories form.
       
  5. Click Utilities -> Ancillary Items -> Ancillary Items Definition.
    1. This is where you will define a specific item to a category (which you just created).
    2. You will also define whether it is a flight or airport item.
       
  6. Click the Add button at the bottom of the form.
    1. The following information fields will appear: 
    2. Enter in values for the following required fields:
      1. Category - The category you want to apply the Ancillary Item to.
      2. Name - The name of the Ancillary Item.
      3. Description - The description of what the Ancillary Item is for.
      4. Charge Amount - The amount to charge for the Ancillary Item.
      5. Max Qty/Pax (Maximum Quantity per Passenger) - If this is set to 0, there is no max per passenger. Otherwise, the passenger can only purchase as many as set.
      6. Applicability: Airport or Flight - If this is set to Airport specific it will be applied when the passenger departs from or arrives at the specific airport. If set to Flight it will be applied when the passenger arrives at the destination airport. This is set when allocating the item.
        1. You can also set this to date specific using the Date Specific checkbox.
    3. The following are optional fields:
      1. Buffer Notification - Check this if you want to turn the Buffer Notification on.
      2. Buffer Quantity - Set this amount to receive an email when items in the category get down to the set number.
      3. Buffer Email - This is where you enter the email address you wish to receive the buffer notification.
      4. IATA SSR Code 
      5. IATA SSR Note
      6. Commission: Value or Percentage - 
    4. Now, click the Fare Applicability tab. This is where you will choose the fare(s) for which you want this Ancillary Item to be available.
                

      1. If you are seeing all fares greyed out under the Applicability column (see above), you must double-click on the N in the Override column to enable the edit mode (see below).
      2. To change the applicability, double-click 'Available' and a drop down list will appear. Select 'Package' for all fares where you would like this to be available.
      3. When you are done, click the Save button. You can repeat the previous steps to create as many items as you would like in that category.
      4. Click the X button to close the Ancillary Items Definition form.
         
  7. The next step depends on whether you selected Airport or Flight Specific in the last step.
    1. If you chose Airport, click Utilities -> Ancillary Items -> Ancillary Items Airport Allocations.
    2. If you chose Flight, click Utilities -> Ancillary Items -> Ancillary Items Flight Allocations.
       
  8. Once in there, choose the departure city or flight you would like to apply the Ancillary Item to.
    1. Choose the dates you wish to look at, and click Look Up.
    2. The list will be populated with flights within the dates selected.
       
  9. Choose a date you would like to add the Ancillary Item to.
     
  10. Click Add - the Ancillary Items Allocation form will open.
              
    1. You can select the Fare Applicability here, as well as the Charge Amount and Buffer Notification.
    2. Once you have everything set to your needs, click Save.
       
  11. You have successfully created your own Packaged Item.
