No Fly (SATA - Secure Air Travel Act) Check for GDS Reservations

GDS PNR (reservations) come in to our system in the following possible first name - title formats:

  • 1LASTNAME/FIRSTNAMETITLE
  • 1LASTNAME/FIRSTNAME TITLE
  • 1LASTNAME/FIRSTNAME

We store everything after "/" in the First Name.  We do this to ensure that when we communicate back and forth through GDS messages, the passengers are able to be matched in both systems.  By storing it that way however, it can cause our No Fly check to be invalid IF the agent doesn't take the time to remove the title from the First Name on the Passenger Protect Check screen.  To do a proper check on ameliaRES Desktop for GDS reservations, you need to do the following:

  • Select PAX and click Check In
  • On the Passenger Protect Check screen, remove the title from the First Name (Select the Update Passenger Details checkbox) and click Check.

  • A proper check will be made against the No Fly list and a warning will be displayed if there is a match or partial match:

  • When they print their boarding pass, the agent should indicate on it that a proper check was done for the GDS reservation.  This way if the organization does online check in, or if someone forgot to remove titles when they did the check on ameliaRES Desktop, they will know that a proper check is still required.
