Flight Segment Period not correct

Problem

I need help on our MIA-PJU flights. The last scheduled flight is 8/13, but that flight is only a one-way return to bring the passengers back, so essentially the sales end for outbound 8/6 being that it’s a Thursday-only flight that begins 7/9-8/13. How do I limit the 8/13 flight so that the outbound is not sold, but we can book passengers to return only on that date (PUJ-MIA)?

Solution

Remember that although you have a return flight, it is configured as two separate flight numbers running independently of each other; therefore, if you need to limit the available dates of travel on one leg but not on the other, all you need to do is modify the route from the Routes screen and change the FROM date to be one day past the last date of operation for that route.

Editing a route that IS in operation:
  1. Open Flight Management –> Routes from the Operations menu.
  2. Select the route you want to modify.
  3. Determine if the route has started operation or not. (Is the start date of the route in the past?)
  4. If the route is started,
    1. click Split Route and pick a new start date, usually one day past the current day is sufficient in this scenario.
  5. Now select the route that you just split out with the start date of tomorrow.
  6. Click Edit.
  7. Now edit the route information section and change the From date to one day after the last scheduled flight for that direction of the route.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Answer Yes to the pop-up about modifying schedules attached to the route.

The additional flight(s) is now removed from the schedule and will not be visible to anyone as a sale option. You can verify this if you take notice of the number in the flights column before and after the change.

Editing a route that has NOT started operation:

  1. Open Flight Management –> Routes from the Operations menu.
  2. Select the route you want to modify.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Now edit the route information section and change the From date to one day after the last scheduled flight for that direction of the route.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Answer Yes to the pop-up about modifying schedules attached to the route.

The additional flight(s) is now removed from the schedule and will not be visible to anyone as a sale option. You can verify this if you take notice of the number in the flights column before and after the change.
