How to Switch Citrix Receiver

With the switch to the New Citrix, we now have given users the ability to use a web version called Citrix Light. Sometimes, Citrix will not auto recognize the Launcher program and will always launch Light instead. The following tutorial shows you how to configure your Citrix to always use the receiver.

*** NOTE: This does not work with Internet Explorer as IE does not support the Light version ***

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log in to Citrix.
  2. Click your name in the top right hand corner - you will see a pop up menu appear.
  3. On that menu, click "Change Citrix Receiver".
  4. If you do not already have the receiver installed, you can download it from this page.
  5. If you DO already have it downloaded, click "Already Installed".
  6. Once you have done this, Citrix will automatically start to use the launcher, instead of making you use Citrix Light. Citrix Light is not the full version of ameliaRES and has limited functionality. You want to be using the receiver.
